From Saint-Louis, the oldest crystal manufactory in France (since 1586) and a Royal Glassworks since 1767, come these ornately decorated pieces. They are mouthblown and handcut. The gold is applied by hand after the crystal is etched in relief. It is then refired so that the gold becomes part of the glass -- it will not wear off.
